RUD South Limburg works on behalf of its clients to implement the tasks regarding the granting of permits, monitoring, enforcement, and environmental consultancy in South Limburg. We are responsible for the tasks around the implementation of the granting of permits, monitoring, and enforcement for the whole of the Province of Limburg for high-risk companies such as large chemical companies to which the Major Accidents (Risks) Decree of 1999 (BRZO) applies.
Our departments
RUD South Limburg consists of three departments: Monitoring and Enforcement, Permits, and Specialisms. Each department has its own tasks and responsibilities.
The Monitoring and Enforcement department is responsible for
- monitoring and enforcement tasks that relate to the Environmental Permitting (General Provisions) Act (Wet algemene bepalingen omgevingsrecht, Wabo)
- conducting environmental inspections
- investigating complaints about companies
- investigating reports about ‘unusual incidents‘
The Permits department is responsible for permits relating to:
- the Environmental Permitting (General Provisions) Act (Wet algemene bepalingen omgevingsrecht, Wabo)
- consultancy
- fireworks
- EIA consultancy (environmental impact assessments)
The Specialisms department in concerned with activities relating to:
- legal advice
- noise
- building
- external safety
- soil
- waste water
- ecology
- groundwater, water, building materials
- light, odour, air
- zone controls, industrial noise
- energy
- environment during spatial planning
- asbestos during demolitions
- fire safety
- structural safety
